3/12/2008 This PA 5 was originally Harold Pitcairn's personal aircraft. Stephen Pitcairn, one of Harold's sons, purchased the aircraft in the mid 70's, not knowing that at one point it had been his father's aircraft. Investigation as to why it had PA 7 wings on it led to the discovery that it was Harold 's aircraft and that he had the aircraft upgraded at the factory as the later models of Pitcairn aircraft became available. Stephen recently sold this aircraft to a relative, David Pitcairn. David is an aeronautical engineer working in the helicopter field. His intent is to restore the aircraft to original condition.
